TARRIFFS AND TRADE:
Join us this month for a fantastic discussion about the foundations of the Trump Administration's trade agenda, including the delegation of authority to the President, the use of tariffs as a tool of foreign policy, and the global prospects for trade policy cooperation moving forward.
We're honored to have an incredible local expert leading this discussion.
Robert Gulotty is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago, where he teaches about the politics and economics of trade. He is an expert on the politics of tariffs and non-tariff barriers to trade, the development of the world trade system, and the domestic politics of compensatory programs for workers and agriculture. His book, Narrowing the Channel: The Politics of Regulatory Protection in International Trade, shows how multinational supply chains create new incentives for protection and challenge the foundation of international agreements.
